REJECTAMENTA

What is the consequence of an event that has occurred, testimonial to a previous occurrence, manifesting as remains profess?

A coffee stained mug
Crumpled sheets
Creased newspaper
Empty wine bottle
Dying embers from a log fire

A narrative transpires and we each relate uniquely, we percieve our own intimacy, connection and confession.

What then surmises from the considered displacement and juxtaposing of things? The forced relationship that has come to be as a result of work I, myself, have created and allowed to transmute....

a typewriter and regimented wood chips (A Colony of Words)
ruptured balloons and bottled sea water (The Girl, the Balloons and the Sea)

These are the polished REJECTAMENTA of my conceptions.

What makes an art work successful?

Does it need to be liked?

Does it require admiration?

Does it simply require consideration?

Should it allow for an engagement?

Should it create a reaction?

Since my degree ended I feel I have possibly failed as an artist......

I have failed because I haven't reached a state of heightened anxiety during the making and execution of my work.

Is this an indication of failure?
